Indoor Season Starting and COVID-19 Safety
Dear Members,
We are extremely excited to start our 45th indoor tennis season on Saturday, September 12, 2020.
During these changing times we have gathered together guidelines and safety practices recommended by the USTA and CDC to be followed by players, pros and staff while playing at Springton.
SPRINGTON’S GENERAL COVID-19 SAFETY PROCEDURES
- Anyone entering and leaving the building must wear a mask.
- Social distancing is required. No shaking hands.
- Lobby area will be closed
- Water fountains are shut off (Please bring your own water bottle)
- Nursery is closed
- No coffee station or vending
- Exercise equipment and stretching area are not available for use
- No showers or lockers are available at this time
- No Saunas
- Only locker room toilets and sinks are accessible for use
- Ball machine is not available at this time
- Ball carts are to be used only by staff
- Only players, pros and staff are permitted in club. (No spectators)
- Limit of 4 players per court
- On the court there will be no scorecards or seating
- If you need something in the pro shop please let our desk receptionist know. (No Demos)
PREPARING TO PLAY
- Please do not come to the club if you or anyone in your household is sick or not feeling well.
- Facemasks must be worn at all times except when playing. Entry to the building will not be permitted without a mask.
- Social Distancing must be followed at all times on and off the court. (6 feet apart)
- Wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer before going to the court. Hand sanitizer dispensers will be available throughout the club. Hand sanitizer will also be available on every court.
- Clean and wipe down your equipment including racquets and water bottles. Do not share racquets and other equipment such as wristbands, grips, hats and towels.
- Arrive as close as possible to when you need to be there and leave directly after playing.
WHEN PLAYING
- Try to stay at least six feet apart from other players. Do not make physical contact with them (such as shaking hands or high five).
- When playing doubles, coordinate with your partner to maintain physical distancing.
- Avoid touching your face after handling the balls and other equipment.
- Avoid sharing food, drinks or towels. (Please bring your own towel. We will not provide them).
- Use your racquet/foot to pick up balls and hit them to your opponent. Try to avoid using your hands to pick up balls.
- Maintain physical distancing if changing ends of the court.
- If a ball from another court comes to you, send it back with a kick or with your racquet.
AFTER PLAYING
- Leave the court as soon as reasonably possible. No social activity or congregating after play.
- Do not use lockers or changing area. Shower at home.
- Use hand sanitizer after playing or coming off the court. Leave building immediately after play.
All guidelines are put into place for your safety and for the safety of our staff.
We will continue the highest quality cleaning procedures throughout the facility using a variety of cleaning supplies, disinfectants and sanitizers. We will sanitize all touch surfaces on a regular basis.
Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the building and courts.
We will continually monitor the USTA and CDC for any changes regarding guidelines. This list will be updated as needed.
